This painting is an exploration that combines concepts from both my Blue Window and Simple Joys series. The title refers to the bridging of fictional—or abstracted—elements with representation. This combination of realism and creative freedom is something I employ in all of my work, but I was thinking about the juxtaposition especially while working on this piece.
